Swords and Sandals: Immortals

Swords and Sandals: Immortals is the latest installment of the Swords and Sandals series, which was created by Oliver Joyce at WhiskeyBarrel Studios. The game takes many of the features that were present in previous installments of the series and tries to create a more modern and fleshed out experience. It was released for Early Access on Steam in June of 2022, and fully released on March 9, 2023. It was also released for mobile on the Google Play Store on April 3, 2023.

Gameplay[]

Game Modes[]

There are three choices of game mode: Campaign, Multiplayer, and Boss Rush.

Character Creation[]

To start, players choose their Species, customize their Appearance, edit miscellaneous Details, choose a Class, and finally allocate Stats.

Species[]

Species usually have three advantages, one disadvantage, and a special ability exclusive to that species.

Appearance[]

Depending on the selected species, players may customize their Gender, Homeland, Hair Style, Facial Features, Hair, Skin, or Eyes. These have no bearing on actual gameplay.

Details[]

In Details, players customize their gladiator's name, Taunt and Victory quotes, Height and Weight, and Voice and Voice Pitch. Of these options, only Height and Weight will change gameplay; being shorter will give up to a 2% modifier to Parry and a -2% modifier to Dodge, and vice versa. Likewise, being heavier will grant up to a 10% modifier to Health and -25% modifier to Movement Per Turn, and vice versa.

Character Class[]

Character Class will determine where you focus your skills and equipment on your playthrough of the game. There are six different classes, with four subclasses each.
